An entry level dental assistant can make around $10-$15 per hour without experience and has the potential to earn $30-$35 per hour with several years of experience and additional certifications (radiology, coronal polishing, pit and fissure sealants, etc.) You probably don't see a lot of commercials for dental hygeine because most programs are competitive and so they don't necessarily need to advertise to attract students, they already have more apply than they have space for. Dental hygeine has also become a field that is in demand most start of making around $45,000 - $50,000 per year and will make $65,000 after a few years of experience.
